About This Event
Ned had a five year run from Boston, Chicago, Hollywood, Georgia to Michigan, mostly playing shows in the midwest. They opened shows for Sly and The Family Stone, Spirit, Steppenwolf, Fleetwood Mac, The Kinks, Savoy Brown, Poco, B.B. King, The James Gang, Richie Havens, and many others. They recorded an album (Ned) in Macon, Georgia at Capricorn studios in 1973. It was released on the Polydor label. A Rolling Stone album review said “... they work in a mellow(er) pickin’ and strummin’ style...It’s almost impossible not to like Ned”
Though they have lost a couple dear members, Doug Mazique (bass/vocals 1992) and Norman Reim (songwriter/guitar and vocals 2023) they still manage to represent their music well and are happy to have Annie the Hat (the 5th Ned) singing with them now. Richie Morales, the bands original drummer may even make a surprise appearance.
